Details about me / What I specificly do, etc.:
Nereus Patrick CHEO is a down to earth artist who is always in search of peace for the world through his works. ‘I collect from the garbage and people sometimes mock at me but when it is finished everyone wants to buy’. His works are an imagery of an inward thought made visual. He picks what he finds around him term useless and transforms it into beautiful pieces. In fact he creates a world of his own. ‘I make sense out of nothing’. He creates his own pigments using local resources. His art works are sometimes a cocktail of colours and at other points a journey into the earth. However, abstract his work may look like it is a distorted form of reality. He adores working with children especially street children and orphans. He uses art in changing the lives of children. His Vision is using arts for cross collaboration and building cultural bridges. He is passionate about his work and calls himself an environmentalist. His most recent large-scale works have been site-specific. Merging organic materials and digital media, the ephemeral light of video projection and the decay and growth of plants, I create spaces that are both miniature landscapes and representative of the macrocosm of an environment. He seek to create works in which the viewer has a direct physical experience of the space. In each case the work offers an opportunity for attention and care, and opens vistas on how we interact with the environment around us.
